What we could verify
- No monthly fee for one year on a TD Unlimited Chequing Account. TD values that waiver at up to $215.40.

- TD says you could get $500 cash if you open before November 2, 2026 and set up two qualifying services before January 4, 2027.

TD presents the package as worth up to $1,790, which is the bank's own addition of several conditional offers, not cash you receive for opening an account. The pieces we could see on the package page are the one-year fee waiver, the $500 cash offer tied to direct deposit, a pre-authorized debit, or a bill payment, a savings bonus rate, and credit-card welcome offers that also use the November 2, 2026 date.
The $500 and the savings rate are promotions. Read the numbered conditions on TD's page before you count on them. TD also says the New to Canada Banking Package itself is opened at an in-person branch appointment, even though a regular account can be opened online.
Who it is for
TD says you qualify if you are a permanent resident or a temporary resident who has been in Canada for five years or less, you are not a tourist or visitor, and you are the age of majority in your province or territory. Bring proof of status such as a PR card, confirmation of permanent residence, or a permit, plus photo ID.
How to act on it
Book an in-branch appointment if you want this package. TD's own FAQ says the package is not completed as an online-only opening.
