Renting as a newcomer in Nova Scotia

MSI health coverage and residential tenancy rules are provincial and are not duplicated here until we have checked the current official pages. Federal and national listings still apply.

We do not yet have a Nova Scotia-only housing guide page in this edition. The listings below are national programs whose official pages do not exclude Nova Scotia.

Renting a home as a newcomer

IRCC's renting guide explains leases, deposits, landlord entry, and what to check before you move in. The enforceable rules still come from the province or territory.
