What we could verify

This card sits on the phone company's newcomer page, next to the mobile plans, because Rogers treats it as part of settling in. The cash-back rates above are what that page states. They depend on having a qualifying Rogers service and on Rogers' definition of an eligible purchase.

We are not calling this a 'no credit history' card. The newcomers page does not say that in the section we read. Ask in the store whether a newcomer file is considered, and read the cardholder agreement for the interest rate before you carry a balance.

Who it is for

Rogers' newcomer ID list, on the same site, is a passport plus a work or study permit, a permanent resident card, or a confirmation of permanent residence. The card itself may have extra credit rules. Confirm them in store.

How to act on it

Rogers says to visit a store. Do not apply from a third-party screenshot of the cash-back rate.
