The interest rates above are copied from TD's newcomer package page for this specific card, not from a general 'newcomer rate.' They apply when you carry a balance or take a cash advance. Paying the statement in full avoids purchase interest. The $150 is a welcome offer with an end date, not a feature of the card forever.
TD also shows an Aeroplan Visa Platinum on the same package page, with an $89 annual fee waived for the first year and a points offer that also uses the November 2, 2026 date. We are not repeating that points total here because the conditions are long. If Aeroplan is the card you want, read that block on TD's page. Building history works the same way on either card: use it, and pay it.
TD's newcomer credit page says options exist if your Canadian history is thin. The $15,000 line is described for Canadian permanent residents. You still have to be approved. The banking package itself requires an in-branch appointment.
Apply with the New to Canada package in a branch, or ask about the card once the chequing account is open. Bring status documents and proof of income if asked.
