What we could verify

Bell belongs in a newcomer directory because it is one of the three national networks, not because we found a special immigrant rate. The prices above were on the public BYOD page on the day we checked. They can be gone next week. The $60 and $75 figures are the ones printed as the current monthly price, and Bell is explicit that credits are involved. Ask the store to show the price before credits and after.

Bell's prepaid page says Bell no longer sells new prepaid activations, and it sends you to Lucky Mobile for prepaid without a credit check. If your file is empty, read that listing before you sit through a postpaid credit check. Bell also says devices that rely on its 3G network will not be supported starting March 1, 2027, so an older unlocked phone may need to be replaced.

Who it is for

New activations, bring your own compatible phone. Bell will ask for ID and may run a credit check on a postpaid plan. That check is not waived anywhere we could verify.

How to act on it

Check bell.ca for the current BYOD price, then activate in store or online if your phone supports eSIM. Get the price in writing if it includes a bill credit.
